SIMI Motion Capture

What is it?

SIMI Motion Capture is a state of the art automated movement analysis system using a series of colored LED markers. The system produces instantaneous data for analysis and can also be used as a biofeedback device to train and adapt a multitude of functional movements and sports related activities.

How does it work?

Colored LED markers are placed in a particular pattern coinciding with the type of test

motion/activity being completed.  The motion/activity is then captured using one (or more)

high speed cameras to produce instantaneous 2D motion capture analysis on joint angles,

axes of motion, distances, etc.  The software uses an advanced algorithm to obtain this data

using the LED markers and automatic processing on the live images/videos.  A playback

feature is also available to record and review activities and even compare them to past results or save them for future analysis.

What do we get from it?

The motion capture system produces instantaneous 2D motion capture analysis on joint

angles, axes of motion, distances, etc.  The software uses an advanced algorithm to obtain

this data using the LED markers and automatic processing on the live images/videos.  With

this information we have objective data to analyze our clients movements against normative

data which then guides our injury prevention, rehabilitation, or sports performance

programing.

Why is this important?

The data obtained using the SIMI motion capture system allows us to individualize all of our

programming and focus in on the exact issues causing your pain/discomfort or holding you

back from the next level. This data is the gold standard for motion capture and biomechanics

analysis and puts us at the forefront of sports medicine. Using this technology, we help reduce the chance of injury and increase performance.

The goal is to create a better, faster, and stronger athlete that is more resilient and can

sustain a long and prosperous athletic career.
